1. USA / Johannesburg, South Africa

Today you will begin your South Africa journey as you depart on the flight bound for Johannesburg.

2. Johannesburg / Cape Town

Connect through Johannesburg to Cape Town where you are warmly welcomed and whisked away to the Commodore hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day unwinding.

3. Cape Town

Enjoy the day at leisure. We suggest a half day Cape Town City tour (additional cost). Spend the day exploring the city’s grandeur, from iconic Table Mountain to the cobblestone streets of the quaint and colorful Malay Quarter. It won’t be long before you discover why Cape Town is frequently listed as a top destination to visit by newspapers, adventure travel bloggers and travel magazines. (BD)

Hidden Gems: – Tonight enjoy a mouthwatering Cape Malay and Indonesian fused dinner at the Quarterdeck Restaurant.

4. Cape Town

Enjoy another day at leisure in the fascinating city of Cape Town. We suggest a Cape Peninsula Tour (additional cost). Immerse yourself in spectacular ocean vistas on today’s full day exploration of “The Fairest Cape.” Drive past the sparkling beaches of Camps Bay, Clifton and Llandudno and along the legendary Chapman’s Peak drive to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve making a stop at Boulders Beach to visit the endearing penguin colony. 5. Cape Town

Your final day in the city is at leisure. Perhaps a sojourn to the nearby Cape Winelands’ to sample gourmet fare or a visit to Robben Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site and place of incarceration of South Africa’s beloved Nelson Mandela or if you want to get your heart pounding, descend into the shark infested Atlantic Ocean in a reinforced cage. 6. Cape Town / Pilanesberg National Park

Bid farewell to the Cape and continue to the splendor of Pilanesberg, South Africa’s third largest National Park. The scenic beauty of Pilanesberg is reflected in a large central lake. Through time, wind and water have carved a spectacular landscape. The park boasts healthy populations of lion, leopard, black and white rhino, elephant and buffalo known as Africa’s “Big Five”. After getting settled, grab your camera and venture into the bush for your first open vehicle game drive. (BLD)

7. Pilanesberg National Park

Just as the wildlife awakens, meet your safari ranger and hop aboard your open safari vehicle for a thrilling game drive with fellow lodge guests. Return to the lodge for some leisure time at the pool or relax with a book. In the afternoon set off on another exhilarating game drive. Return to the lodge just as the as the sun dips below the horizon and share the day’s adventures with your safari companions over dinner. (BLD)

8. Pilanesberg National Park

Enjoy another day in the bush. Photograph away as you spot the Big Five and other wildlife while traversing the prolific reserve. Pilanesberg is also a birder’s paradise. Perhaps you will spot the pied or malachite kingfisher, the great white egret or the African fish eagle. (BLD)

9. Pilanesberg National Park / Johannesburg / USA

Take one last early morning game drive and keep a lookout for any animals that may have eluded you so far. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before transferring by road to Johannesburg Airport and embarking on your flight to the USA. Or, you may wish to add to your adventure an optional excursion to Victoria Falls, the world’s largest curtain of falling water. (B)
